We have been sailing with Claire since the Winter Season of 2021. She was our second coach after Hanne and we have never looked back. Without Claire there would be no PSST and our sailors would have never experienced the level of success they have had. She has been their coach and an amazing role model for all of them.
Claire is the brain of our operation and our sailing expert. She coaches our most advanced sailors and is responsible for our technical development program. The program is what we use to manage the development of our sailors. She is a Pacific Northwesterner at heart who grew up spending her summers in the San Juan islands. She lives PNW values and appreciates our wonderland. She is also a full-time attorney and coach of the University of Washington sailing team. We are grateful for every hour she shares with us.
Claire is a world-class sailor and one of the most decorated sailors in the Pacific Northwest. She started her sailing career at San Francisco Yacht Club sailing El Toros. As the Optimist class gained popularity, she quickly moved to the Opti Class and qualified for the USODA National Team at her second Team Trials. She represented the US at multiple IODA events including the North American and South American championships. After aging out of the class, she went on to sail Lasers and become a member of the US Sailing Team, and Olympic Development team before joining the Yale Sailing Team in 2009. As a college sailor, she was ICSA Women's All-American, Fowle Trophy Winner, and ICSA Women's Singlehanded National Champion.
